I have heard the ELCA leadership beg us to remain in the ELCA, to remain in unity with them. My own bishop told us "we need your (orthodox) voice?" How does that mesh with these links?

So much for respecting our "bound conscience."
And what about the proposed rule changes the ELCA will be enacting so that congregations will have a more difficult time leaving the denomination? (read here)
What the ELCA is really saying is "we want traditional Lutherans to stay in the ELCA unless you disagree with us, then individuals should leave our denomination. We are also changing the rules to make it much more difficult for the church to leave the ELCA, so that you have to leave the church buildings to us and our supporters."
