Many faithful, Bible believing Lutherans have decided to stop funding the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America because it has taken the worldly "wide road" that leads to destruction. We have seen the financial decline churchwide with the ELCA's main offices cutting staff and programs, and today we see it with the news that the Nebraska Synod announced "an across-the-board 5 percent reduction in funding from the Synod budget." (see "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." - Matthew 7:13-14
